Director of Product Management, Puppet
Position Summary:
Kapil Tandon, Vice President of Product Management for the Puppet team at Perforce is searching for a Director of Product Management to join the team. We are looking for an individual who is a highly skilled and experienced individual. In this critical role, you will lead and manage a product management team, ensuring successful development of our new Forge marketplace, expanding our Managed Service offering, Product integrations and developer kit.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of product managers,
providing guidance, support, and performance feedback to foster their growth and maximize their potential. - Product Strategy: Collaborate with stakeholders to define and execute the
product roadmap, aligning it with the company’s strategic goals and customer requirements. - Technical Expertise: Leverage your deep understanding of Open source, B2B marketplace development, IT infrastructure,
configuration management, and software development to provide product management expertise and oversight to the team. - Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to ensure seamless collaboration and alignment throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Product lifecycle ownership: Drive the end-to-end product development process, including ideation, requirements gathering, prioritization, and release planning, while ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape, translating insights into actionable product strategies.
- Stakeholder Management: Engage with key stakeholders, including executive leadership, to provide updates on product development progress, gather feedback, and ensure their support for the team’s initiatives.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the success of product initiatives, making data-driven decisions to optimize product performance and drive continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Engineering, or related
discipline). Advanced degree preferred. - Proven experience in product management, with a focus on Open-source marketplace and IT Operation tools is desirable.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team towards achieving common goals.
Technical proficiency and understanding of relevant technologies and concepts in IT Operations - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully managing product lines with focus on delivering business impacting programs.
- Experience in agile methodologies and product management frameworks.
- Proven ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
