Test Professional Engineer

Rate of Pay:

The salary range for this position in New York, NY is $118,200-159,800 per year and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. Duties:

Support testing and bringing standard and specialized systems into an operational state; Support standard tests and commissioning tests in well-defined individual components of systems; Identify problems and take appropriate steps (troubleshoot) or refer to others; Responsible for the corrective modification of the standard hardware and software systems; Interface between development teams in regards to Simulator equipment used for CBTC projects via weekly coordination meeting with development team and weekly status update exchanged by emails; Write and update testing procedures; Document job activities through written reports; Document software/hardware defects as detected during testing phase.

Requirements:

Employer will accept a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or in a related field, and 24 months of experience in the job offered or in a related Engineering occupation. This position requires experience with the following: LINUX OS and WINDOWS OS and RTOS VxWorks; Communication networks such as TCP/IP or Fiber Optics; Ada, Perl, Shell scripts such as bash or sh; Configuration management: ClearCase; V cycle; CBTC (Communication Based Train Control) norm, specifically IEEE 1474.1-2004 standard; MTA CBTC (Communication Based Train Control) specific knowledge (Interoperability Interface Specification – I2S – CBTC specification).
