Summary / Role Purpose
Join the Ansys Customer Excellence team to partner with our customers to engineer enterprise-level software solutions and grow Ansys’ business. Primarily working under direct supervision of your manager, you will contribute to the development of Ansys Platform solutions and supporting systems. In this role, you will collaborate with a team of expert professionals to accomplish solution development objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform basic development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of software modules and sub-systems
- Learn and employ best practices
- Perform basic bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned solutions. Research and resolve problems discovered by QA, field, or customer
- Work under the close supervision of a development manager
- Strong understanding of front-end development
- Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS
- Helping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme and plugin.
- Good understanding of website architecture and aesthetics.
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
- Required education and degree type: BS in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- Required minimum years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+0
- Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in writing and speaking English
- Strong organizational and time management skills, possesses a sense of urgency
- Projects a professional image and demonstrates business acumen, driven to succeed
- Capability to work independently, as well as with others in a fast paced, diverse team environment with continually evolving priorities
- Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
- Experience with languages such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery
- Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
- Strong understanding of PHP back-end development
- Should be good with WordPress (Rest, Hooks, Custom post types and Taxonomies)
- Knowledge of SQL query and basic database management
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Preferred education and years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+3 or MS+0
- Basic understanding of the software development process
- Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team
- Practical experience managing WordPress sites
