Software Verification Engineer II

Summary / Role Purpose  

The R&D Verification Engineer II joins the Digital Mission Engineering group to conduct software testing of ANSYS applications such as AGI’s flagship product, Systems Tool Kit.  This role assesses how well the product meets customer needs both in terms of functionality and usability and ensures that product requirements and quality standards are satisfied. The role works closely with other members of the product creation team and communicates with technical specialists on product issues. This role will contribute to the development of internal tools used to automate testing of Ansys software and quality processes and assist development teams in performing automated application testing.

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

• Specify and write test cases, creates, modify and update existing tests, write and maintain test scripts

• Perform functional, application, regression and performance testing in manual and/or automated test environments and investigate possible causes of problems
• Create test plans, participate in defect management and testing metrics
• Expand test automation and test coverage
• Working with DevOps team to build and manage consistent test platforms
• Apply standard techniques and procedures and comply with the company’s overall development and testing processes​
• Work in a variety of computing environments: Windows, Linux, VM’s

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience 

• BS in Engineering, or related field with 2 years of experience, or MS with no experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team
• This position does not qualify for immigration sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications and Skills 

• Experience in a large-scale commercial software testing and verification environment
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic understanding of software testing and verification processes
• Familiarity with source code and build management tools such as Perforce and Quickbuild
• Knowledge of Model-based systems engineering including SysML
