The Senior Application Engineer is responsible for leveraging expert-level engineering knowledge and relationships to support regional accounts with significant impact on software revenue, as well as for helping customers to solve complex engineering problems using ANSYS software products. The role encompasses all the technical support of our customers, the provision of technical credibility in supporting our sales campaigns, and the delivery of professional services in most advanced customer engagements. The specialization is within the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) application group, with potentially cross-discipline solution aspects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Improve customer satisfaction and productivity in using ANSYS products by providing technical support
Develop and document best practices in their area of expertise
Own the customer problems, proactively engage with selected accounts to provide comprehensive solutions
Gather customer requirements to support the improvement of ANSYS Products
Delivery of professional services for global projects which might include collaborative work with other field engineers in the same or different disciplines
Instruct training classes of various levels on the usage of ANSYS products
Work independently to analyze technical needs, requirements, and state of a customers’ current infrastructure, operations, and engineering workflows
Articulate ANSYS’ value proposition
Create and demonstrate simulation solutions to streamline customer workflows
Learn from customer activities – industry specific applications, key business initiatives…
Participates in internal corporate initiatives to share knowledge and best practices, inside the discipline and cross-disciplines
Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
BS in engineering or other technical discipline
A minimum of 6 years of experience in an engineering environment
Demonstrated skills in CAE tools, especially ANSYS software, for Computational Fluid Dynamics for different types of applications such as aerodynamics, multiphase flows, turbomachine, heat transfer, etc
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to facilitate and conduct webinars and presentations to customers
Ability to work on multiple projects which are complex in nature and across diverse teams and locations
Demonstrated skills in writing and presenting in fluent English
Ability to travel
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
MS or PhD preferred
Ability to travel up to 40%
Experience using ANSYS Fluent is a plus, specifically on external aerodynamics and/or thermal applications
Fluent in English and French, plus at least one more European language, for example Italian or Spanish
