Manager/Senior Manager, External Reporting & Technical Accounting

JOB DESCRIPTION

As an individual contributor and reporting to our Sr. Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting, this role will be a key position in the finance team who will be responsible for assessment and implementation of all technical accounting topics impacting the company, including evaluation, documentation, and communication of all new accounting standards, regulatory reporting and general reporting trends.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the preparation and timely filing of 10-K and 10-Q financial statements in accordance with GAAP & regulatory guidelines including ownership of supporting workpaper documentation

• Oversee XBRL tagging of financial statements

• Partner with Accounting, Finance, Legal and IR team members and lead the preparation of quarterly, annual and periodic SEC filings, including footnote preparation and review of XBRL tagging
• Coordinate the review of all SEC Form filings (including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statements, etc) with external auditors, outside legal counsel, accounting team and executive management
• Prepare or review the support for all areas of external reporting process, including balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows, statement of shareholders’ equity, earnings-per-share calculations and stock-based compensation
• Coordinate and manage the execution of audit procedures
• Lead and maintain SEC reporting calendar and coordinate review process with key stakeholders including the Disclosure Committee
• Prepare disclosure checklists
• Review journal entries and account reconciliations for technical areas including share-based compensation, equity, investments, mergers and acquisitions, leases and significant contracts
• Monitor peer and industry filings to identify emerging trends and industry filings to identify emerging trends in financial statement disclosures
• Research and analyze accounting issues independently, including recent accounting pronouncements, complex transactions and emerging areas and prepare technical memorandums accordingly
• Assist with month-end close activities and monthly/quarterly financial package
• Assist investor relations team with the preparation of quarterly earnings release and related documents, including 8-K filings
• Undertake special projects and other ad-hoc projects as needed to ensure that accounting and reporting requirements are properly addressed
• Develop and maintain working relationships across various functions within Finance and other company organizations and the external audit team
• Assist in the development of internal controls in financial reporting and manage relevant compliance procedures

Requirements:

• Active CPA license, CA preferred
• 8 years or more years of accounting and external reporting experience, including a mix of progressive public accounting and industry experience with global entity consolidations
• Experience leading the external reporting function and strong understanding of US GAAP, Reg S-X, and Reg S-K disclosures rules
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to draft original disclosures, MD&A, and other public and private communications
• Exceptional organizational skills, timeline management skills and attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and strong with Word and Excel
• Desire to work in a fast growing, exciting and agile company that recently went public
• Ability to work cross-functionally to obtain all relevant facts and articulate accounting requirements with conclusions reached
• Experience with NetSuite, WDesk, Floqast and Shareworks highly preferred
