SUMMARY
A Lead Linux Engineer effectively influences and facilitates Linux support technology within organization, The person is responsible for organizing, directing and controlling processes, procedures, information services and other company Linux related services. A Lead Linux Engineer will engage with the team to complete the projects, requests and support tickets while advising management on the effective use of linux technology and resources.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead Linux Engineer is responsible for setting technical direction and multifaceted Linux environment
- Projects may include Integration of the legacy tools with the new technologies such ansible, docker, core cloud technologies from the big three
- Custom Linux package building and distribution.
- Scripting using (Python/Perl/Bash)
- Experience with NVDIA drivers installation on multiple Linux distributions
- Solid understanding of VNC and X environments on multiple Linux distribution, RH, SUSE, CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu
- Good understanding of ITEL delivery model and Kanban
- Provide Linux based service and project delivery to the stakeholders
- Mentor Support Teams and Team members
- Work closely with the company leadership to assess the technical feasibility, cost and resource requirements for proposed business initiatives
- Lead, collaborate and influence business leaders to devise or modify processes and procedures to achieve desired results
- Monitor and ensure customer satisfaction for IT support and deliverables
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 10 + Years of Linux IT Experience showing increased levels of responsibility
- Ability to lead the teams/projects while dealing with some ambiguity
- Think Strategically and anticipate the next steps
- Strong planning and organization skills
- Ability to influence people and grow existing technical and interpersonal skills
- Excellent English skill and ability to work with the Global teams
- Ability to learn and tackle unknowns
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent gained through education and experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience developing SOX procedures and ensuring compliance preferred
- Core Competencies include: Team Building, Planning, Negotiating, Drive for Results and Organization
- The ANSYS teams are located in Asia, Europe and North America area, therefore it is helpful to understand multi culture working environment
