Summary of Role:

This position is for a Product Diagnostics Engineer located at GLOBALFOUNDRIES state of the art campus in Malta, New York. The successful candidate will drive end-to-end Memory characterization and associated infrastructure from DFT and Test through Memory Data Processing Flows and Post-Silicon Validation for Technology Test Sites, IP, and Customer Products. He or she will develop standards in collaboration with other support teams to improve characterization capabilities of all varieties of memory designs across the spectrum of technology nodes on GLOBALFOUNDRIES’ strategic roadmap.

Essential Responsibilities:

Memory bitmap Enablement:
Work with design and test to implement array logical to physical mapping
Setup bitmap viewing in internal tool
Memory failure diagnostics
Failure isolation using commercially available and internally developed tools
Circuit & layout analysis
Failure characterization & yield data analysis
Workflow automation using scripting languages
Memory layout study:
Detailed memory circuit layout study
Understand SRAM,DRAM,NVM failure modes
Generate report and highlight key issues
Memory yield analysis, correlation and characterization:
Yield analysis & correlation with functional testing results, process experiments, electrical test data, inline
Statistical data analysis
Generate statement of work
Parametric data, defect data, as well as product, layout and circuit design to identify the cause of yield killers
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics or Related Discipline
Minimum of 6 Years of relevant experience.
Minimal Travel Required
Language Fluency – English (Written & Verbal)
Ability to relocate to Malta, NY

 

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree and of PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics or Related Discipline
5 years of experience in memory technology development or related experience
Product engineering experience.
Relevant course / knowledge: Product, testing, circuit design, fabrication process, device physics, failure analysis.
Familiar with memory development
Understanding of memory layout, design for manufacturing practices, weak point analysis.
Understanding of memory test and memory test algorithms
Familiar with DMA, commercial and custom MBIST solutions
Fluency with Python,TCL, Java or other scripting languages
Familiar with data analysis, statistical analysis and relevant tools like Python/Pandas.
Possess good working attitude and willing to take ownership in projects
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with different cultures
International and domestic travel may be required
Experience and understanding of high volume manufacturing
Problem solving skills, communication ability, team spirit, active learning attitude
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
