This job will be part of the Communications Solutions Group, which is responsible for Keysight’s portfolio in the Wireless Data Ecosystem, including wireless devices, operators, internet infrastructure, and Aerospace & Defense. Our software-centric solutions accelerate our customers’ time to market and reduce their costs – giving them a competitive advantage in today’s and tomorrow’s technology waves.

Job Description

As an Expert Software Engineer, you will play a key role in defining and developing products for testing network equipment with primary focus on embedded Linux development.  In addition, as a key member of the engineering team, you will be involved in all aspects of the product development including; architecture, simulation, design, design verification and introduction into manufacturing.  In this position will work closely with other hardware, software, system, and FPGA engineers.

Qualifications

BSEE with 7+ years or MSEE/Ph.D with 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

  • Excellent C++/C/Python programming skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing Firmware.
  • Experience in development, debugging, and productizing of large C++ based embedded software projects.
  • Expert in C++ programming language and debugging skills especially related networking and hardware issues.
  • Experience in working IDE based environments.
  • Proficiency in C++/C/Python and OS/Kernel debugging skills are required.
  • Proven experience with solving real-time embedded issues, including: threading, optimization, memory management, interrupt handling, etc.
  • Strong background of networking protocols (TCP, UDP, IP etc)
  • In depth knowledge of Linux kernel internals and device drivers.
  • Completely proficient with multi-core/multi-CPU environments.
  • Expertise in working with Linux network stack is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work with embedded controller boards, working knowledge of multicore processors like ARM, PowerPC, MIPS etc., and deep understanding of RTOS network stack internals.
  • Demonstrated ability to use debug tools such as Wireshark.
  • Algorithm and data structures expertise are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and explore new technology areas and applications
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Current working knowledge of Cavium MIPS and ARM based CPUs
  • Experience in working with NICs
  • Experience in setting up switches and routers
