Position Overview:

Siemens Mobility Customer Service seeks to hire a highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and dedicated Service Engineering Project Manager (EPM) to lead the engineering support services for a fleet of our Charger Locomotives and Venture Coaches. The EPM leads the project engineering team through the mobilization and execution phase of our maintenance contract and is responsible for ensuring that all engineering requirements from the customer contract are met.

This role reports to the Service Engineering Manager, who provides functional supervision and sets achievable targets. The incumbent will have broad autonomy to reach the result. The EPM is fully responsible for all maintenance engineering deliverables of the Service Project and will be based in a hybrid role in Washington, DC.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Work closely with the project management team, the customer, internal and supplier engineering teams to ensure all engineering requirements are clarified and delivered on schedule and with the expected quality.
  • Drive the project timeline for service mobilization, maintenance plans, service material definition, and acceptance.
  • Drive continuous updates to the customer documentation (e.g., maintenance documentation, spare part’s catalog, work instructions, special tools’ documentation.)
  • Manage the resolution of project obsolescence issues in coordination with the obsolescence manager and system engineers.
  • Work with reliability managers, field service and system engineers to drive resolution of fleet reliability issues (root cause analysis to completion of modification design).
  • Monitor the delivery of all service engineering tasks and take appropriate actions to ensure resources are available and on schedule.
  • The EPM is accountable for delivery of all service engineering tasks in a timely and efficient manner.

To thrive in this role, you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering. In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, a combination of education and Siemens relevant work experience in rolling stock will be considered.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance management and familiarity with the locomotive industry, equipment, technology, and regulatory obligations.
  • PMP Certification or other project management methodology and terminology body of knowledge.
  • Setting you apart from others would be a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years of EPM experience within the rail industry with PMP certification and fluency in German.
