Director of Product Engineering

As the Director of Product Engineering, you will lead a team to create a world-class organization supporting NPI and Production activities to bring-to-market custom ASIC products for our customers.
What You’ll Do
- Focus on strategic execution to a world-class standard. Evaluate current systems & implement continuous improvement activities to improve department operation efficiency and productivity.
- Manage Product Engineering teams in US and overseas locations to support NPI and Production phases. Resource planning based on project & production requirements. Train & develop team personnel.
- Prepare project budgets and schedules, define priorities to ensure milestones are met. Communicate any significant delays, problems, or changes affected by Product Eng to management/Customer.
- Develop strategic external partnerships to expand available services, improve support & overall costs
- Coordinate with other teams to meet product requirements. Work with Design Eng on product design & acceptance, work with Test Eng on validation plan, characterization & target yield, and work with fab vendors to achieve targets. Define product qualification requirements.
- Support Sales with customer presentations, project cost predictions and service contract reviews.
- Work with customers to define suitable qualification plans to meet product market requirements.
What You’ll Need
- Excellent supervisory and leadership skills in a team-oriented environment over Product Eng.
- In-depth knowledge of Semiconductor manufacturing process, qualification & reliability requirements, process control, data analysis and yield enhancement.
- Ability to educate/train/distill team on the complexities of their critical role.
- Experience working on Digital and/or mixed signal devices for broad applications (commercial, industrial, automotive, aerospace, etc)
- Good understanding of COGS, NRE and Hardware cost.
- 12+ years of relevant experience
