Job Summary:

Our client in Livonia, MI is looking for a CAE Engineer General. This is a contract position.

What You Will Do:

Underbody Systems (UnSE) – VSA Analyst will develop and update 3D VSA models for Underbody Systems (UnSE) using VisVSA Mockup Variation Analysis simulation tool. Work with Design and Release (D&R) engineers to support analytical needs with Failure Mode and Root Cause analysis and support Design Rule creation and validation. Develop new VSA methods and tools to deliver quality dimensional management analysis and improve modeling efficiency and throughput. Apply Dimensional Management Analysis (DMA) disciplines to critical dimension and tolerancing issues in UnSE products development process. Perform parametric optimization for system robust design with basic dimensions, size, and geometric tolerance analysis using drawings and assembly operations.

Basics:

  • Associate’s degree or academic equivalent in Mechanical/Technical disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) application in system stack-up or VSA analysis.
  • Thorough understanding of automatic transmission system in multiple program phases.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in CAD modeling and methods using software tools Catia or NX in applicable feeds.
  • Proficient in reading/interpreting component and assembly prints Experience in 1D stack-up analysis.
  • Experience using PLM software.
  • Understanding of dynamic and static system interfaces Knowledge in parametric CAD modeling methods.
  • Hybrid position.

Preferred:

  • Experience using PLM software (Teamcenter preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Experience w/ BEV transaxle modeling.
  • Proficient with Siemens Vis/VSA software.
  • General knowledge of BEV and Underbody components and systems.
  • Understanding of assembly structures (BOM) and sequences.
  • Basic knowledge of statistics (Z-score).
  • Experience with CATIA V5/V6.
  • Knowledge Advisor workbench (for parameter management).
  • Working knowledge of MS-Excel spreadsheet tool development.
