If anyone has any figures, even ball park, on various products, could you please let me know. Also, could you give me the half life on pricing since the value declines especially fast in the tech sector. In the not to distant future I see markets where the price of IP will be determined by an open market like many other products or rights. Even the music industry has rights bought and sold. The best investment Michael Jackson ever made was buying a huge music catalog and there is an active market in rights in the entertainment industry. If anyone knows of an active market for IP in the tech industry or companies that create markets in tech IP, please let me know. One of my goals is to be able to determine the leverage IP has in the economy. I suspect in the tech sector it is higher than most, due to it's shorter half life as to value. This will also give me an idea of the total leveraged cost of IP theft to a company/country and not just the cost of the IP theft itself. Any views, thoughts, opinions, comments or even good speculation in this area would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I did find that AMAT spends about 14% of revenue on R&D and the semi industry on average about 18%. This a multiplier of 6 to seven of R&D expenditures to revenue. If this applies to business revenues, the Chinese are literally costing us trillions in business around the world. This is definitely a problem to big to be ignored.
