What companies and individuals will best apply AI/ML? Dangers, Opportunities and Devastation?

The AI/ML race is on, now the question is what companies, governments and educational institutions will best apply AI/ML to the real world for maximum benefit and reward to the world and themselves? We are in the very earliest stages, and I have no doubt people and organizations of vision and determination will radically change our world, the only question is who. These companies and individuals I have no doubt will come up with applications, uses and adaption of these technologies that most haven't even dreamed of or contemplated. Also how dangerous can AI/ML be in the hands of the wrong people? Will we have true AI/ML wars that devise new ways of devastation.
