Paul Liu, head of Taiwan's National Development Council (NDC) and a TSMC board member, addressed lawmakers' concerns by denying speculation that TSMC is considering acquiring Intel's struggling foundry business. He emphasized that the topic has never been discussed at the board level, likening such a move to mixing "diesel with gasoline," suggesting an incompatible pairing. This statement was made to quell rumors amid Intel's challenges in the foundry sector and TSMC's dominant position in the global semiconductor market.

"Paul Liu, head of Taiwan’s National Development Council and a TSMC (TSM) board member, has denied speculation that the company is considering acquiring Intel’s (INTC) struggling foundry business, DigiTimes’ Bryan Chuang and Levi Li report. Addressing lawmakers’ concerns, he stated that the topic has never been discussed at the board level, comparing such a move to mixing diesel with gasoline-an incompatible mix."

He is not wrong. :ROFLMAO: That was the worst rumor, with "cited sources", that I have seen so far this year! It is early yet though.

Jensen Huang also said he has not been asked for buying Intel stake.
