Time for an Open Source design platform?

After attending the GlobalFoundries/Common Platform event yesterday in Santa Clara, and in particular the Ron Wilson panel session, I'm really beginning to feel that there is an opportunity to develop open-source design platforms for use by IP (block) designers and for cloud based systems design.

Which point tools in your design flow would you pay for to be developed and supported by the open-source community? How much would you pay?

Coming from an analogue background ... these tools and prices will be attractive ... (perpetual licence)

PDK and Design management ... EDA 5k
Schematic capture ... EDA 5K
A Mixed Signal Simulator ... EDA 15k
DRC / LVS verification engine ... EDA 15k
Layout ... EDA 5k (There is already a free version ... KLayout ... which can be spruced up)
Waveform viewer and Corner Simulation setup tool ... EDA 5k

EDA can be USD or n*USD ... where n > 0 ...

I am not sure how you would price it up so I just thought I price it up relatively.
