TI puts InstaSPIN-MOTION in $25 kit

TI has reduced three-phase motor controller tuning to one parameter, plus packaged a whole set of motion control capability in their release of the TI C2000 Piccolo F2806x InstaSPIN-MOTION LaunchPad (yes, that's a mouthful for a product name). The heart of this latest LaunchPad kit is the 90 MHz F28069M MCU running the InstaSPIN-MOTION software, a version of SpinTAC from LineStream Technologies. Compared to the previous InstaSPIN-FOC kit, the new features are impressive:

What is remarkable about this is how much capability is packed into ROM on the MCU. Run-time optimized motion profiles can be created and combined easily, all with continuous cancellation of system disturbances. This is all enabled with a 32-bit DSP core combined with a floating point unit, a control law accelerator, and a Viterbi and complex math unit to extend the instruction set - on a part starting at $10.22 in 10k quantities.
