Tesla can never match Chinese cost structure

Arthur Hanson

Well-known member
China is a command and control economy that uses low cost and even near slave labor with few environmental controls. No one in China is protesting against China's industry, environmental policies or the communist control of the Chinese economy unless they want to end up in a reeducation camp. The US and China are totally different economies. It Tesla could import its Chinese made cars it could compete, but the hatred of Tesla and Elon Musk would go through the roof. The US government and people are going to have to learn to compete against China or see our lives and society as we know it come to an end. The "Automation of Everything" that the tech sector can build with the leverage that our tech sector can build is our only hope of our way of life surviving as we know it. Semiwiki is a small step in the right direction, and I hope other areas will have similar organizations devoted to constant improvement and collaboration.
