I haven't been able to find out much yet, but it looks like advanced semis of many types have allowed us to make the major advances to build a portable, low cost MRI. Just like any technology, the breakthroughs that make this possible will keep advancing, just like any device involving electronics and semis of various types. This will become a major tool to advance the quality, speed and lower costs of medical, as technology has done with everything it touches. It will be interesting to see all the other applications MRI systems will be used for in the future. When costs go down, the uses for any technology go up. It will be interesting to see if advanced graphics chips and processing chips play a key part in advancing this technology., It is the vast increasing computing power at ever lower cost, that made this device possible as it will open many more doors in the future. Any additions welcome and solicited.
