Semis, AI, GPT and War, China wants TSM

Arthur Hanson

Well-known member
Semis in drones and missiles have radically changed war as we have seen in Ukraine with the massive and effective use of drones. This is only the beginning for how long will it be before AI/ML become a critical factor in warfare? The world is going see a massive increase in intelligence in weapons that will render much of how war is currently conducted obsolete. This is a major reason China wants free access to TSM for they see in Ukraine the massive changes intelligence and control in weapons that advanced semis can bring not only to existing weapons, but new ones. It's only a matter of time before GPT gets weaponized. The world now has to wake up and deal with entirely new forms of warfare, both cyber and physical and combinations of the two. Any thoughts, comments or expansions appreciated. The semi world now has to wake up to a terrible new reality that requires as much thought and even more wisdom as the dawn of the nuclear age decades ago.

For you yuts out there, check out the "Planet of the Apes". Watch it to the end.
Not sure what a yut is, but I'm guessing most people have seen the Planet of the Apes. Although ,the film end isn't the highlight. Linda Harrison! Good grief.

How can China absorb TSMC when production will likely be shutdown or even sabotaged if China takes military action in Taiwan. Thoughts?

It's even more than that. TSMC depends on a lot of companies that would not assist China in that type of scenario. They'd never be able to keep those lines running, given they would be the pariah of the world, along with Russia.

The solution is actually quite simple. Or maybe it isn't, or it would have been done. Give Taiwan nukes. End of threat. It's not like their little ally up north doesn't have them.

Nothing is more provocative than being weak. But hopefully with Japan ramping up, China will think twice. They fully know that one Japanese soldier is worth 10 of theirs, as they took a terrible beat down in WW II, even until the end. The problem is, they have about 1000 to 1 :p .

Our policy is to design everything for both Taiwan and upstate NY fabs. I believe Peter Navarro.
