And quick on TSMC's hind quarter Samsung Foundry announced 11nm ready for production in 1H 2018 and 7nm EUV in 2H 2018. Last I heard TSMC 7nm EUV is due out in 2019.
Scott Jones did a nice write up on the previous Samsung roadmap last June: Samsung Details Foundry Roadmap
Scott also recently update his viral post: Standard Node Trend.
This Samsung update includes 11nm (optimized 14nm) which is one upmanship on the TSMC 12nm process which is currently in production:
Samsung Strengthens Advanced Foundry Portfolio with New 11nm LPP and 7nm LPP with EUV Technology – Samsung Global Newsroom
The TSMC OIP Forum is on Wednesday so I will have another update after that. I also have a call with Samsung tomorrow night so I nay do an expanded blog on it.
Competition is for the greater good so this really is great news, absolutely!
