Implantable and ingestible tech

Implantable tech will when combined with wearable tech will be the launch the next wave in personal medical and the ultimate ID system. Injected like pet ID chips are now, these will not only offer much more in depth medical measurements not available from the surface of the skin, but act as an ID they would be not only identified by a number, but numerous other biometric prints live, rendering them almost impossible to spoof or fake. This strategy will extend to ingestible sensors that would range in cost from low to high, but still far cheaper than going to a medical facility. The opportunity to dramatically lower medical costs when the debt just from Medicare is at 100 trillion and climbing (Medicare and prescription debt, usdebtclock.org) and threatens our very financial survival makes every other market look small. This presents the semiconductor companies the largest opportunity ever seen. The world population is getting larger and older, with old people consuming six times the medical of young people, which will make large and growing opportunities for the tech sector world wide and when increasing wealth added in, the fastest growing. This environment will benefit the fabless and foundry models the most. Wuxiapptec is doing to medical, what TSM has done to semis. I also feel we are just at the beginning of the foundry model across all branches of the tech/medical industry. Comments, thoughts, ideas welcome.

It will be interesting to see if a bio foundry that does medical devices including development like Wuxiapptec links up with a forms a partnership with a semi foundry and what the results may be. The link below is for Wuxiapptec which with Charles River are the two pioneering firms in the bio foundry space. Below is the link for Wuxiapptec.
