(Reuters) - Alphabet's Google is preparing to partner with Taiwan's MediaTek on the next version of its AI chips, Tensor Processing Units, that will be made next year, the Information reported on Monday, citing people involved in the project.

Makes sense for them to not to go too deep into a cookie cutter ASIC shop business. After a few forays into chips, I see a lot of American Internet companies quickly losing interest after they see little actual money making opportunities from the silicon itself.
