Foucsed Ultrasound, a Revolution in Medical

Focused Ultrasound, a Revolution in Medical

Focused ultrasound may become the largest revolution in medical by changing some surgeries from highly invasive to minimally invasive. Doing surgery without even cutting into the body in the area of tumors will be the start of a veritable revolution in medical and it's easily possible to see many other areas this technology could be used in such as dissolving dangerous blood clots. Ultrasound as a diagnostic tool is advancing at a blistering pace and is showing ever more promise as an ever more inexpensive and ever more effective way of viewing the human body. Now it looks like ultrasound has the potential to become a serious and prominent surgical tool. Jus like anything the tech sector touches, this could radically drive down cost while increasing functionality in ways that haven't even been considered yet. Dealing with cancers at a small fraction of the cost in time, invasiveness, money could be the beginning of a whole new mind set in the medical sector. It isn't hard to imagine this process becoming highly automated and not even requiring a doctor. This is but a potential revolution I was talking about in my previous forum of the power of the tech sector. The medical sector is ripe for a new wave of technology and automation.

This could be the beginning of a profound change in medical in the US where we rank 37th in quality at the world's highest cost by far, consuming almost 20% of our entire GDP and growing.

I don't think the reason the US spends more than any other country on medical for poorer results is due to not having the most advanced technology...

Even in actual direct application we are behind the curve and in using tech/finance to manage the application of care, we are far behind many. I have in the past put mid six figures into this and have many of our medical practices sadly outdated. The US is definitely behind in all areas of medical. Only if you are wealthy or have a very high end medical plan can you get really good care unless you are willing to go bankrupt.

One other factor to note is that medical has become the largest lobbying/influence peddling industry at all levels of government. They also portray themselves better than they are and don't know any better. You should see the look of shock on their faces when I tell them about the quality/price of US medical and then they go to their computer and prove me wrong and find out it's even worse than I told them.
