hi all
i need all vlsi chip design cad tools names for class seminar.i know a digital design flow is HDL code ( Aldec,Modelsim,ISE)->gate level (Design Compiler)-> place & Route ( SoC encounter ) -> DRC & LVS ( Calibre & cadence )
but I wonder what other software except the software there and What does each do? For example, the difference between design compiler and prime time? or what is the ELC or Abstract generator or NCX?

Gary has some good data, however his Wall Chart is not alphabetical, has no product names, and is woefully out of date.
