Brembo Brake by Wire, Semis extend reach

Semis and electronics are changing everything and brakes play a large part in anything with moving parts and this is just one more area of expansion of semis that offers improvements that semis can bring to activation and control that will be unmatched by old systems. Cars are literally becoming computers and electronics on wheels as Tesla and others are finding.

Most people find what evr motors doing as boring but I think it's bad ass and they're making the world greener.

Bad day for ABS vendors. No hydraulics means ABS can be replaced with simple computers.

I am wondering though, why nobody has yet tried using eddy current brakes with disk brakes? It's basically adding one extra "caliper" with a field coil.

Or even better, they can just put it on the main caliper itself, and get a boost to regular braking power too when it attracts to the iron brake disk.

Regenerative braking with supercapacitors will be the future with no pads at all.

Regenerative braking don't work at low speeds.

Anyways, the emergency braking performance needs to be many times the engine output, and you will never be able to get such performance from an electric motor with any kind of cooling system.

Principles in semiconductor design like architecture are being used for batteries as well as electric motors. The performance to weight ratio will increase and the technology can change the world now. Cars will use less fuel because of it.

I doubt that "Principles in semiconductor design"can do much against Ohm's law.
