A whole new market for semis, mems and sensors using semi technology is going to be the next huge growth area for the semi sector and this is just the very start. Many of these will be active in that they actually control functions and some are combined with drugs to make them work better or are actually designed from the start to work with electronic controls and monitoring. We are in the very infancy of bionic people which is going to be a mega market in the future. The human body is the next frontier for semis and semi technology. It will also be the next frontier for software for control and augmentation. Soon biotech companies may be major customers for foundries.
