Age, Training and Winning in the Silicon Valley culture

This is why the educational/training system in our society and companies must change. The standard degree goes obsolete in just a couple of years and even much of what is learned in the freshman year goes obsolete or gets automated well before graduation. The whole concept of education/training is going to have to change. Jobs will have to start earlier as Germany currently does and education will have to be ongoing on a subscription basis. The companies that learn and master this won't have the skill shortages so many companies have from not having a training migration path that matches the progression of their products. Using adaptive education that utilizes AI to augment and leverage traditional instruction a company can create a competitive edge that many other companies will overlook at severe danger to themselves. The companies that can adapt and automate the upward migration of skill sets among new and existing employees will win the game. Not only will they keep up to date, but they can build specialized skill sets that no other company in their field has. Intelligent, strategic education and training will become the key separator between the winners and losers. Training people in a skill set that no other company has is the ultimate edge and as the pace of change geometrically accelerates will provide the needed skill sets to win, where the standard education leaves off. Not only that, the best employees will also be attracted to the companies that value them as a resource to be cultivated and grown, instead of being thrown away. You are either growing or dying and companies and individuals both have to make this a conscious choice.
