CEO Jensen Huang followed up a keynote address by introducing a Taiwanese night market in the US
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang (黃仁勳) enjoyed a taste of Taiwan with crowds following his annual keynote address on Tuesday at Nvidia GTC in San Jose.
Nvidia said in a press release that its GTC Night Market features street food from 20 local vendors. Adorned with Nvidia’s signature green, this year marks its first appearance at the AI convention, per CNA.
Surrounded by bodyguards and fans, Huang’s first stop was a meat skewer stall, where he spent NT$6,600 (US$200), per TVBS. “It’s very good,” Huang said as he took a bite from a skewer, asking anyone if wanted the rest.
A stall owner told reporters that Huang was delighted. He added that he bought dozens of skewers to give away and called Huang generous.
Huang then visited Liang’s Village, a well-known food stall in the San Francisco Bay Area. The eponymous stall owner Liang (梁) said Huang bought 10 bowls of dry noodles to share with others. Liang even created a “Jensen Special” combo with dry noodles, pig ears, and braised pork rice.
During his two-hour presentation, Huang unveiled Nvidia’s latest Blackwell Ultra architecture, claiming it is 1.5 faster than the previous generation. The chips are slated to be released in the second half of the year.
