The IT Support Technician provides computer or network support for our organisation.
They are involved with a wide range of tasks including installing and configuring computer systems, diagnosing hardware and software faults, and solving technical and applications problems, both over the phone or and in person.
Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
Responsible for monitoring, diagnostics, and ensuring that all our office systems are properly configured for maximum efficiency and uptime.
Key tasks
Maintain IT Helpdesk and support staff with faults and queries in a timely fashion.
Monitor and maintain computer systems and network.
Troubleshoot and diagnose as required. Plan on updates with minimal downtime
Propose system enhancements and assist with implementation of various IT projects
Set up new users’ accounts as required and disable leavers in a timely manner
Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
Qualifications and training
Degree in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field
Microsoft, Cisco qualifications or equivalent professional qualifications
Experience in computer networks and systems maintenance.
