Overview
- The IT Support Technician provides computer or network support for our organisation.
- They are involved with a wide range of tasks including installing and configuring computer systems, diagnosing hardware and software faults, and solving technical and applications problems, both over the phone or and in person.
- Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
- Responsible for monitoring, diagnostics, and ensuring that all our office systems are properly configured for maximum efficiency and uptime.
Key tasks
- Maintain IT Helpdesk and support staff with faults and queries in a timely fashion.
- Monitor and maintain computer systems and network.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose as required. Plan on updates with minimal downtime
- Propose system enhancements and assist with implementation of various IT projects
- Set up new users’ accounts as required and disable leavers in a timely manner
- Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
- Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
Qualifications and training
- Degree in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field
- Microsoft, Cisco qualifications or equivalent professional qualifications
- Experience in computer networks and systems maintenance.
- CompTIA/Cisco/Microsoft
