Test Engineer

For our growing business we are looking for a Test Engineer who shows enthusiasm for all aspect of test including unit, system and box test.

Position Content & responsibilities

Comcores is looking for a motivated and skilled colleague to fill a role as Test Engineer in the Packaged IP solutions team with focus on TSN Ethernet system including PTP timing.

You will hold a key position in the software team and will over time be a part of different development teams that develops IEEE1588 time synchronization solutions, Ethernet APIs and Network Controller. You will be working closely with your colleagues in the SW group as well as ASIC/FPGA designers.

You will be involved in ensuring that the Software as well as full solutions lives up to our customers’ expectations and quality.

Your main task

• Drive the test Automations for both Unit test as well as full solution test
• Hands on testing both for SW as well as on real HW in lab
• Build and maintain test setup in our HW lab
• Design manual and automated testcases and result interpretation
• Develop test strategies in collaboration with the development engineers
• Create script-based test environment for both unit and system level test
• Ensure proper test and quality of our Ethernet solutions

You will have the opportunity to play an important role in help growing the SW group and improvement of our working methodologies, tool-chain and processes, especial within the testing area.

Your Background

• Master or BSc in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Network Technology or equivalent
• More than 3 years of working experience as a software developer/tester
• Experience with manual and automated testing incl. efficient test strategies
• Experience with setting up test equipment, Ethernet network or similar equipment
• Knowledge of test frameworks like Pytest or similar
• Understanding of test automation
• Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins/Bitbucket/Git
• Experience with Linux systems
• Experience with Python programming
• Embedded development experience and debugging
• Knowledge of C/C++ development is an advantage
• Knowledge about computer networking technologies is an advantage
• Knowledge of IEEE 1588 is an advantage
• Personally, you are focused, systematic and solution-oriented person that manage to transform your skills into action
• You feel motivated by being the best within your field and like to work with the newest technologies

Our Situation?

We are gearing up to serve a growing number of customers in an early-stage market for TSN Ethernet solutions (Time Sensitive Networking) and transforming Comcores from providing IP cores for custom ASICs, but to scale the ability to provide full solutions in the TSN and 5G marked. This will require an acceleration of our Software development as well as constant improvement of quality.
