Technology Transactions Counsel

Job Summary:

Working with members of the Altair legal department and reporting to a senior level attorney.

What You Will Do:

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements to acquire or commercialize intellectual property, technology, products and services, including in-bound/OEM and out-bound strategic license agreements, development agreements and other agreements that provide third-party components for product development and commercial distribution
• Working closely with the relevant business teams through new product introduction and commercialization process to draft, review and negotiate OEM technology agreements and related agreements
• Reviewing and assessing open source license agreements, specifically copyleft licenses and related compliance issues
• Team player that is willing to pitch in on additional responsibilities as needed including but not limited to supporting M&A due diligence review and strategic alliance activities

What You Will Need:

• J.D. from an ABA accredited law school and admitted to practice law in at least 1 state
• 3-5+ years’ experience practicing law with experience negotiating inbound and outbound licensing agreements
• Ability to engage with business team members at all levels
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills and abilities
• Ability to counsel and support corporate development teams through new product development and commercialization

Preferred:

• Prior experience or exposure to Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
