We are currently seeking a Staff Device Validation Engineer to join our rapidly expanding Technology Platform Team based in Cambridge. This pivotal role will primarily involve designing and developing test solutions as well as assessing the performance of our core devices. The successful candidate will work closely with our Research and Development (R&D) team and Production team to uphold the high-quality standards of our products and meet the discerning needs of our customers.

Key tasks
- Lead collaboration with R&D and production teams to establish and execute detailed validation strategies, including comprehensive master validation plans.
- Implement and oversee advanced on-wafer test setups, utilising a wide range of probes and instruments to efficiently achieve complex testing objectives.
- Work as part of a team developing automation for large-scale data processing, enabling in-depth analysis and rapid identification of process deviations.
- Investigate and optimize production test data, identifying systemic issues and implementing proactive solutions to improve measurement reliability.
- Collaborate across disciplines to innovate and refine test structures, contributing to improved process monitoring and advanced testing solutions.
- Design and implement state-of-the-art measurement techniques aligned with evolving technological and business demands.
Qualifications and training
Qualifications (e.g. university degree in a relevant discipline) and industrial training (training courses and/or industrial experience) which give the applicant the appropriate foundations to technically lead their peers in the domain of automated, on-wafer testing.
Essential Skills and experience
- Advanced proficiency in Python, Labview or similar languages for developing test automation.
- Experience in data analysis, proficient in using statistical methods to draw conclusions from large datasets.
- Strong working knowledge of electronics fundamentals.
- Ability to work independently and part of a team.
Desirable Skills and experience
- Experience with industrial software development using continuous integration (CI) tools
- Proven record in solving manufacturing or device-related anomalies.
- Experience with thin-film components.
