The goal of the Deal Desk is to build and develop procedures and processes that enable the company to improve the quality of deals and maximize the revenue associated with the company’s business. The ability to communicate and influence across all levels of the company is essential in ensuring the success of the role in the company.

The deal desk will ensure that the process, documentation, approvals, and timeframes for submitting and reviewing a deal are clear and followed. The deal desk will have a high level of authority and empowerment to make critical decisions in real-time, having worked with all stakeholders to ensure the best outcome for the company.

The Deal Desk Leader must manage the complexity across the entire flow of IP and IP Deployment Software 

  • Review and approve proposed contracts based on established guidelines (commercial terms etc.)
  • Provide parameters and tools for standard and non-standard deals
  • Understand the context of IP and IP Deployment Software business terms and represent that to other teams in the organization (Finance, Legal, Marketing, Engineering) while providing guidance to Sales
  • Hands-on role. Self-motivated and self-directed

Job Functions: 

  • Manage all aspects of a deal desk within Sales Ops
  • The goals are to optimize bookings, revenue, profitability, and market share based on business priorities
  • Guide and support sales in deal structuring, deal approval, and deal management while focusing on minimizing sales cycle times
  • Drive best practices to increase sales efficiency and effectiveness via deal reviews, early checkpoints, and enforcement of standard business practices and policies
  • Review and approve quotes and sales orders
  • Improve sales velocity by ensuring collaboration with Finance, Legal, and Product Marketing teams
  • Work with Legal and Finance on deal terms in the context of the customer, market segment, and strategic significance of the deal
  • Implement PO acceptance and acknowledgment process
  • Formalize quote process

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related competency
  • 10+ years of  industry experience (Deal Desk, Finance, Sales Operations experience preferred)
  • Familiarity with semiconductor IP and IP Deployment Software business and deal structure
  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure; diligent with deliverables and deadlines, able to multitask
  • Understanding of revenue recognition principles
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – verbal and written
  • Exceptional analytical skills along with the ability to demonstrate practical judgment
  • Collaborative style with the ability to communicate clearly and articulate operational issues
