Software Development Engineer

As a senior development Engineer in Linux and Chrome Systems Engineering team, you will be responsible for implementation and execution of Intel Client based solutions for Media focused technologies including performance optimizations.

Scope includes cultivating relationships with Platform Architects, Program Managers and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) as well as proficiency in adjacent competencies such as Virtualization, Security and Display technologies. Candidate will architect, design, define and build Media focused platform features as well as drive high value proof of concept solutions.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience or Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field

Must also have at least 4+ years of experience with the following technical skills:

• Technical knowledge of Linux, Chrome OS including Media and Graphics stacks
• Experience with media processing open source frameworks such as WebRTC, FFmpeg and G-Streamer
• Excellent programming skills in C/C++/Python programming skills

Preferred  Qualifications

• Experience with VP8/VP9/AV1 and Video Acceleration APIs
• Knowledge on Intel VA-API or Media SDK Software frameworks, Chromium development for Media Processing
• Experience working in Chromium will be beneficial.
• Performance optimization experience and WebRTC stack development will be added advantage
• Excellent communication skills including experience interacting with senior technical staff, customers and ecosystem partners.
