Mentor, a Siemens business, MED 5G Division, is seeking highly motivated, responsible and self-starting engineers to join our Development team in Oulu.

The role, as part of a firmware team, is chartered to develop lower layer software and firmware for X-STEP Hardware Products.

As a Senior Embedded Software developer, you will be working on the X-Step Hardware products, including development and integration of lower layer software and drivers. Your responsibilities will include: determine feasibility, design, analyse, implement and debug fronthaul protocols and control software. We will expect you to support and develop software engineers among the way by providing advice, mentoring them and facilitating educational opportunities.

Qualification and experience required:

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• Proven hands-on experience in agile software development using C/C++ technologies.
• Extensive writing lower layer software (hardware access) or Linux kernel drivers.
• Experienced with embedded hardware devices and high-speed serial interfaces
• Confirmed experience in writing Linux system scripts
• Familiar with hardware bring-ups.
