Job Description

This job will be part of the Keysight Technology Organization, which helps Keysight be first to market, focusing on top opportunities and market trends that address unmet needs.

Signal Analyzers and Signal Generators are key building blocks for many Aerospace and Defense test solutions.  We are looking for an experienced RF & microwave engineer interested in working closely with Keysight’s Field Sales team and customers to understand their measurement challenges in the areas of ATE/Depot test and Avionics test, propose solutions using Keysight hardware & software, and demonstrate Keysight’s ability to help customers be successful.  Understanding the customer’s business challenges that drive their hardware and software buying decisions, as well as developing strong customer relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction are key aspects to this position.

This position requires a dynamic technical leader with a passion for business development and application knowledge based heavily on signal analyzers and signal generators.  You will use your application, measurement and product knowledge to interact directly with customers to understand their test challenges in R&D, manufacturing and field test. This position is the primary business development and application engineer for ATE & Avionics solutions world-wide for ADGS.  You will translate the customer needs into specific HW & SW requirements for planning and R&D teams in CoEs or AD Solutions Teams.  This AE position also provides key insights and contributes to prioritization of capabilities to pursue the most profitable deals as well as inputs to the strategic direction of the solution(s).

Key roles and responsibilities

  • As our ultimate domain expert in your industry, you will engage deeply with customer engineers and Keysight Field Applications Engineers and Solution Specialists worldwide on strategic engagements.
  • Represent the voice of the customer back into product and solution planning teams and provide timely feedback on new features and capabilities for ATE/Depot and Avionics applications
  • Develop new applications that can be addressed with our instrument and SW products.
  • Develop technical training content for field AEs and Solution Specialists, Insight training for FEs, Webinars, and AD Symposium papers.
  • Resolve customer issues and provide consultation on use of Keysight’s products (stand-alone and within systems).
  • Serves as next level of support for solving issues arising from service, technical support and field applications groups.
  • Write papers and customer-facing technical documents and application notes, and deliver customer training classes and consulting related to the application.

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in electrical or computer engineering with 5+ years of application measurement experience
  • Expertise in signal analysis & signal generation measurement applications
  • Results oriented, demonstrated track record of success delighting customers and delivering solutions to market
  • Outstanding leadership and teamwork skills to effectively influence strategy and gain alignment across all levels of planning, COE’s & ADGS
  • Effective oral and written communications.  Ability to deliver effective training to internal field partners, solution partners or to enable customers to understand Keysight solution benefits.
  • Ability to effectively work in a global product development environment
  • Willing to travel ~ 25% of time

Desired skills

  • Multiple language skills are beneficial for this worldwide application and business development position
  • Understanding of a multitude of RF/uW/mmW measurements & instruments
  • Components are increasingly more complex.  Knowledge of various measurements in time, frequency, power and modulation domains is desired along with the future trend of making over the air measurements.
  • Software skills in some of these programming/scripting languages .NET(C#, C++ or VB), C, Matlab, Python, Perl, Verilog, and LabView
  • Basic knowledge of FPGAs
