RESPONSIBILITIES
- The R&D Engineer II will contribute to the development of software products and supporting systems.
- Collaborate with a team of expert professionals to understand customer requirements and accomplish development objectives.
- Perform moderately complex development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of software modules and sub-systems.
- Perform moderately complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products.
- Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions.
- Understand the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues.
- Works under the general supervision of a development manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study.
- Alternate Acceptable Education and Work Experience Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science or a related field of study, and two (2) years of experience in a related position.
- Work experience or academic coursework must have included:
- Experience in C++, object oriented programming, C++11/14 standards, and design patterns;
- Experience in the Linux operating system;
- Experience with data structures, algorithms, and debugging;
- Experience with ASIC power grid simulations for IR drop and electromigration analysis or similar computational/simulation methods in mechanical and fluids domain;
- Experience with Python based software development;
- Experience with understanding fundamental concepts in electronic design at gate level or transistor level;
- Experience with software design and development involving multiple engineers
- Additional work location information: May permit telecommuting from home office within commuting distance to Austin, TX.
