Project Manager

Based within the Programme Management Office, we are looking for an experienced Project Manager that can work cross-functionally! You will support and deliver projects to design, install and commission new semiconductor fabrication lines and/or new technology platforms to support product development.
Initially reporting to the Senior Director (PMO) and working closely with the SVP Operations and SVP Technology, this is a key position of responsibility and your success in this role will be central to the success of the company!
This position will be located at Pragmatic Park (near Durham). We will consider a reasonable level of flexible working; however, it is expected that a strong, on-site presence will be required in order to be successful in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiation – identify the user requirements, work with technical teams to develop initial concept solutions and produce a project brief.
- Definition – develop detailed requirements and specifications, produce plans for the project timeline, resources, communication, risk and quality and develop a robust case to form the foundation of the project.
- Execution – work with key stakeholders to engage delivery partners, ensuring appropriate legal and contractual frameworks are in place at all times. Proactively manage the day-to-day work according to the schedule and ensure all outputs are delivered on time and are properly documented.
- Monitoring & Control – use a range of techniques and reporting to ensure schedule, budgets, risk, quality, scope, changes, etc are under control and effectively communicated. Ongoing stakeholder engagement is key.
- Transfer – the project will close when the deliverables are effectively transferred into operational “business as usual” with all important metrics met.
Qualifications & Training
- A higher technical qualification, e.g. Degree or equivalent experience or HND in an appropriate technical subject, e.g. Electronics Engineering, Physics, etc (essential).
- A formal project qualification, e.g.: APM – PMQ / PFQ or Prince2 or MSP Practitioner (desirable)
- A formal construction accreditation, e.g.: MRICS or NEC contract management (desirable)
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Experience in a similar project related role in Manufacturing/ Semiconductors. Specifically in managing large budgets for projects and managing/ administrating contracts with external suppliers.
- Knowledge of a formal Project Management development process and the strengths required for effective delivery.
- Excellent written & verbal communication.
- Competent in a range of IT systems such as: MS Office, SharePoint, Project etc.
Desirable
- Experience of working within an ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Understanding the legal and regulatory environment surrounding fabrication lines and clean room construction.
