Product Engineer Powertrain

Job Summary:

Our client in Livonia, MI is looking for a Product Engineer Powertrain. This is a contract position.

What You Will Do:

Battery electric and transmission housing engineer. Design and release of cast aluminum and machined housings and associated components. Lead cross functional product development teams. Includes troubleshooting and continuous improvement of the parts.

Basics:

• B. S. Mechanical, structural or automotive engineering.
• Mechanical Design, GD&T stack analysis.
• Structural Analysis including understanding of FEA.
• DFMEA and associated robustness tools.
• DVP&R and understanding of systems engineering principles.
• Microsoft office tools, project management skills including the ability to lead a cross functional team and deliver to cost and timing requirements.
• Teamwork skills in working with colleagues, designers, CAE analyst, transmission/vehicle engineers, prototype and test staff, suppliers and manufacturing.
• Automotive Mechanical, structural, or manufacturing engineering.

Preferred:

• M.S. Mechanical, structural or automotive engineering.
• WERS, TCe (team center).
• Metallurgy.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes especially aluminum HPDC and precision machining processes.
• Design and Release, transmission engineering, Powertrain Engineering, Die Casting, CNC machining, Fastener Engineering and Assembly.
