We collaborate across Intel to develop and execute programs for Government agencies. Intel Government Technologies works with and across the ecosystem to deliver mission solutions to Government customers.
This role designs, develops, codes, and tests digital signal processing algorithms, solutions, and system models.May also be responsible for the development of physical systems to support digital signal processing in compliance with external specifications. Researches and develops DSP algorithm specifications for emerging technologies and products and contributes to the standardization and definition of such techniques with external standard bodies. May include the research and adoption of machine learning and other AI applications to improve performance and user experience. Defines algorithm blocks, performs algorithm tuning and validation, and creates novel ideas to meet system requirements. Creates prototypes of the algorithm and optimizes the design for power and performance goals in different stages of product development. Runs DSP algorithms simulation using advanced simulation tools while performing basic tradeoffs on power, die size, and performance. Develops validation test plans and writes scripts to assist validation of algorithm implementation into the larger system. Implements DSP primitives and subsystems in RTL. Defines and documents system and component requirements for algorithm performance based on system requirements. Root causes and troubleshoots algorithm performance issues. Collaborates with digital architecture designers to translate models to hardware design and various stakeholders to develop the technical roadmap with the latest industry best practices and innovative solutions for the future. As a principal engineer, recognized as a domain expert who influences and drives technical direction across Intel and industry. Develops and mentors other technical leaders, grows the community, acts as a change agent, and role models Intel values. Aligns organizational goals with technical vision, formulates technical strategy to deliver leadership solutions, and demonstrates a track record of relentless execution in bringing products and technologies to market.
This role will provide intelligent radio and radar solutions leadership and manage an engineering team creating RF to baseband circuits, reconfigurable intelligent architectures, and systems that meet the unique requirements of Government customers. Projects may include enhanced commercial-off-the-shelf (eCOTS), semi-custom, and fully custom hardware, firmware, and software, including multi-dimensional chiplet based solutions accompanied by standardized die-to-die interfaces and advanced packaging technologies, enabling integration of internally and externally developed technologies. All solutions may require enablement of security leveraging advanced post-quantum cryptography and intelligent adaptation leveraging AI/ML.
Responsibilities include:
- Architect and design of the end-to-end intelligent radar/radio solutions for IGT product/platforms targeting the government market segment, including design of multi-dimensional chiplets, die-to-die I/Os, circuits, software, and firmware.
- Define the radar/radio system architecture, hardware, software, and firmware interfaces, protocols, algorithms, and applications across market-specific requirements and needs. Partner with external engineering services and EDA tool providers to deliver programs as required.
- Work closely with government customers to develop technical solutions that address their mission needs. Interact with technologists across Intel and within the industry to evaluate feasibility of requirements and determine priorities for development.
- Responsible for pathfinding and providing the technical direction for radio/radar solutions development and validation. This includes shaping IGT’s radar/radio solutions and RnD technical strategies, setting and executing a radar/radio solution roadmap to deliver longer-term business goals.
- Partner with Intel-wide product, RnD, and foundry teams to define and execute customized IGT radio/radar systems solutions. Integrate across novel, emerging, and established technologies from Intel and the ecosystem to meet customers’ mission requirements. This may include re-using an existing radar/radio product for eCOTS customization, re-using algorithms/hardware/software/firmware or Intel supported radio solutions, or collaborating with Intel Corp engineering teams.
- Be recognized as a domain expert who influences and drives technical direction across Intel government customers and industry.
- Develop and mentor other technical leaders, grow the community, act as a change agent, and role models Intel values. Build the intelligent radar/radio solutions engineering talent to meet IGT market segment demands.
- Manage the IGT intelligent radar/radio solutions organization. Align organizational goals with technical vision, formulate the technical strategy to deliver leadership solutions, and demonstrate a track record of relentless execution in bringing products and technologies to market. Be diligent on cash flow and oversee important buying and spending decisions around key tools and technologies.
- Proven success in architecting multi-dimensional chiplet based radio/radar solutions across multiple production systems.
- Proven examples of deep customer engagements that defined efficient and effective chiplet based radio/radar solutions satisfying customer requirements.
- Multiple successfully completed projects leading the definition of the structure, protocols, algorithms and/or applications for intelligent radar/radio solutions
- Experience with domain area applications and relevant systems solutions and products.
- Multiple examples of mentoring and developing technical leaders and building talent.
