Job Summary:
Our client in Windsor, ON is looking for a Powertrain Design Release Engineer – Intermediate – PSP. This is a contract position.
What You Will Do:
The Powertrain Design Release Engineer will work closely with designers, CAE groups, suppliers and manufacturing to design components and systems to ensure designs are robust for function and manufacturing. Scope of responsibility includes product design from concept to launch, components/system packaging, releasing 2D drawing and 3D models, performance specifications and production product issue resolution. Creating and maintaining the DFMEA and DVP as well as conducting center of excellence reviews for design robustness. The engineer will be involved with current production components in addition to future development projects.
Basics:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred).
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Powertrain / Engine / Transmission operation and components.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Must be able to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Must be able to lead and manage Suppliers.
- Some travel required to Supplier and Corporate Engine/Transmission / Vehicle Assembly Plants — including Canada & Mexico.
Preferred:
- Green/black belt in Shainin or DFSS desirable.
- CAE/CFD experiences on Powertrain structure.
- Hands-on involvement in the repair/modification of a vehicle, home or other technically complex project.
- Working knowledge of Casting and Injection Molding processes.
- Knowledge of our client´s Systems and/or products.
