Codasip was born in 2014 with the mission of democratising processor design. We are succeeding. At the same time RISC-V was gaining traction, so it was natural for Codasip to embrace it as an Open Instruction Set Architecture.

RISC-V is a revolutionary technology in the semiconductor industry. This role will have high impact and visibility in Codasip and in the growing RISC-V world.
What the team do
The Platforms team itself is responsible for taking the cores from the IP teams and building FPGA prototype platforms. They’re also responsible for producing reference software to run on the platforms such as Linux. The prototype platforms are used for system verification and validation to enable our customers to evaluate our IP and cores.
Currently it is a team of 8 engineers, with a mix of disciplines and domains across software, hardware, verification and validation. They are based across Europe and will continue to grow throughout 2023, establishing internal Team Leads in each function to delegate plans from you.
What you’ll do
We’re looking for a technical manager for the Platforms team. This is an opportunity to shape the team and contribute to the direction and success of Codasip. It’s a high profile position, with high impact and visibility in both our company and the growing RISC-V world.
We need somebody who can:
- Set the strategy and guide the direction for the critical projects in the Platforms team
- Provide important updates to the Leadership team as to the project roadmap
- Manage the team in an official capacity, responsible for career development and progression
- Contribute to the growth of the team and support recruitment
- Regular travel between offices across Europe to spend time with the team
- Communicate with a range of engineering managers from other teams to collaborate on projects
- Manage customer support
Requirements
What we need
- Experience of managing a mid-sized team of engineers across multiple disciplines, ideally in an international environment across different geographies
- Significant experience in systems engineering, or a mixed domain background in software, hardware and verification
- Strong understanding of how virtual and physical platforms are created and used
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact with senior leadership, product management teams and customers
- Previous exposure to setting strategic plans and guiding the direction of a team to ensure projects are completed on time and to budget

Given that the Platforms team are geographically distributed mainly across the Czech Republic and UK (as well as Spain and Poland), the role will require regular travel between Brno and Bristol.
