Seeking a passionate and innovative Engineer who is ready to learn and contribute to deploy a variety of package technologies to address exciting products in various end markets. The engineer will be involved in the decision-making process in selecting the appropriate package types and be able to provide inputs as die is being defined. After some training the engineer is expected to handle hand-on design/layout tasks and manage the package design and development projects assigned, build prototypes, and coordinate the qualification. Planning the ramp-up to production, and for all sustaining activities for high volume production will be part of the engineer’s responsibility.

What You’ll Do

  • The successful candidate will undergo hands on training with other engineers and through external classes and seminars so that they can make contributions in the areas below
  • Customer interface as needed in defining the optimum package for specific application.
  • Understand requirement and work closely with IP and Device Layout teams to provide package guidelines during die design.
  • Be responsible for Package development – to include hand-on or contracted layout effort in the design of high density packages, SI/PI analysis of design, and reviews and acceptance of a wide spectrum of packages: Flip-chip, BGA, CSP, 2.5D, MCM and lead-frame products.
  • Coordinate Assembly activities from prototype builds through production to end-of-life, with emphasis on quality, yields, cycle time & cost reduction.
  • Collaborate with assembly subcontractors regarding process control & improvements, failure analysis, qualification, and documentation.

 What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Material Science.
  • Familiar with Office suite of programs – Word, PowerPoint, Outlook Excel etc. – and ability to manipulate data with some programming.
  • Willingness to train and pick up engineering tools for design and design analysis.
