Samtec require an ORDER ENTRY ASSOCIATE (German speaking) to be based in the Cumbernauld office (Hybrid considered).

Summary/Objective: The Order Entry position requires customer orders to be entered in an efficient and timely manner and be accurately maintained in the system, coordinating with key stakeholders as appropriate.  You may have the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis.  Please discuss your preference when we meet with you.

Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:

  • Fulfil requests for new customer samples and purchase orders via customer portals, EDI, order entry queue, and the website.
  • Review customer purchase orders for special instructions and quality requirements, coordinating with the compliance team as needed.
  • Process and maintain customer change order requests.
  • Coordinate / expedite requests between the customer and Samtec via email or the website.
  • Monitor the ‘pull in program’, coordinating with Shipping on requirements as needed.

Required Experience:

  • Experience in a data entry is essential.
  • Experience in a customer service role would be a distinct advantage.
  • A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel is essential.
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and follow up skills.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks is also essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Be able to demonstrate flexibility, good customer service, innovation and ability to look for win/win solutions.

Preferred Education:

  • National 5 Level (or equivalent) in English and Maths as a minimum.
  • Basic German language skills.

Training required: On the job training will be given.  However, computer proficiency is essential.

Languages:  English is essential; German language capability is required.  French speaking would also be an advantage.
