Material Engineering Manager

Within the Innovation department, the “Materials” department’s mission is to demonstrate the feasibility of new Materials and to qualify the associated suppliers. They are involved in the manufacturing of Soitec products, both for new products and for those in high volume production. In a context of strong growth, this activity is key, it addresses the company’s strategic challenges by allowing both the development of our technological innovations and the securing of our supply of substrates at the necessary volume, at the right cost, with the quality required.

Sidoine, Director of Materials, now needs to rely on an experienced manager in order to manage and coordinate the activities of the Material Engineering group for Compound Materials (SiC, InP, GaN, etc.). For this mission, you are responsible for supervising a team of engineers and technicians of half a dozen people. This involves defining their objectives, providing them with technical and methodological support, supporting them in terms of development, skills development and training, evaluating their individual and collective performance and ensuring their safety. 

At the same time, you also play a technical and operational role as a team relay to your internal interfaces. You are thus connected to all the needs of stakeholders: purchasing, operations, innovation departments. This is about making choices that are both effective in the short term and strategic for the long term.

You will enjoy working alongside our material experts and our supplier partnership managers, being in contact both internally and externally in a profession combining technique and strategy.  

… Coming from a Bac + 5, in the field of materials (a thesis would be a plus) and have management experience of at least 5 years which has allowed you to understand professions in Product Engineering, industrialization or product development, in the microelectronics industry. You are organized, rigorous and demonstrate an ability to manage a multitude of tasks in parallel in a changing environment.

This position, relationally rich, varied and transversal, requires real leadership and animation qualities allowing you to obtain the commitment of your interfaces. It is also about having a global vision of the innovation strategy and its implementation in the actions and activity plan of your team.
