Summary/Objective:   The Market Development Manager will stay abreast on new technology trends, make new product and market recommendations, and follow up throughout the introduction and critical early states of product sales development.

Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate new and current customers in assigned territory to identify new opportunities using resources such as Salesforce.com.
  • Identify and develop new market and client opportunities.
  • Oversee inquiries, technical support and overall responsiveness of Samtec for new products, ASP, i.e.
  • Help develop suppliers as they apply to Market Development projects.
  • Assist in sales channel education of new products and technical selling features.
  • There will be interactions with distributors and distribution channels.

Required Experience:

  • Experience in Sales or another profession where selling or identifying new opportunities is desired.
  • Knowledge of industry products, competitors, and technological advancements in which the industry is going is preferred.
  • Self-Motivated as this person will be working from a home-based office.
  • Travel the Bay area will be required approximately 4 days per week. Potential for travel outside of the Bay Area could be 4 – 6 times per year.
  • Experience in high-speed connector/cable and optical with 5 years is required.

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline or Business is required, and Electrical Engineering background is preferred.
