Job Summary:

Our client in Dearborn, MI is looking for a Manufacturing Eng Electrical / Electronic.  This is a long-term contract position.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide manufacturing engineering leadership throughout a new model program beginning at prototype build through end of plant launch. Lead assembly tooling installation, start-up, and commissioning at the assembly site.
  • Implementation of new/modified EOL test, configuration, and calibration tooling and facilities based on product and process changes. EOL test, configuration and calibration tooling includes eCATS tester hardware and software, CBT hardware and software, 360 camera calibration hardware and software, In-Plant Flash hardware and software, TPMS hardware and software
  • Run a daily open EOL issues meeting
  • Compile and distribute daily EOL metrics files in standard night letter format and Excel list format
  • Identify and drive resolution of manufacturing related issues
  • Interface with cross-functional activities (Product Development, Supplier Technical Assistance, Material Planning & Logistics, New Model Programs, Plant Product Specialists, etc.).
  • Ensure timely delivery to vendors of inputs and specification documentation for EOL test and configuration systems: PRO page 2, Teledata handbook, VSCS, Module part 2 specifications, PDL, Radar and camera alignment specifications
  • Lead pre-build validation events for the eCATS test software
  • Assist in preparation of management reviews and data collection to support the presentation.
  • Support plant acceleration throughput during the launch through identification and resolution of constraints including documentation lead for daily acceleration throughput report.
  • PFMEA/SCCAF updates and maintenance based on physical build events.
  • Concern Resolution (CR) resolution including tooling and labor investment costs.
  • Support Error Proofing (EP) installation as required.
  • Complete preventive maintenance planning / spare parts documentation. Ensure industrial material documentation completed.

What You Will Need:

  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Power Point, etc.)
  • Strong verbal & written communication and presentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of statistics (control charts, data collecting, etc.)
  • Ability to operate in stressful situations within timing constraints.
  • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision
  • Experience with Failure Mode Avoidance principles required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required
  • Extended travel to assembly plants in US, Canada, and/or Mexico may be required
  • 12 hour shifts, night shift support, and weekend support on alternating weekends will be required for certain events.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge in Ford software systems such as AVBOM, WERS, GSPAS/APT, Teamcenter, AIM, CPARS, etc
  • Experience in automotive End of Line desired
  • Experience w/tooling, processes and facilities desired
