JIRA/Confluence Administrator/Developer

Job Summary: 

Altair is seeking a motivated JIRA Administrator/Developer to join our Enterprise Application Development team. This group is responsible for developing and implementing business applications for Altair worldwide, including internal and external facing applications supporting Software Development, Customer Support, Financials, Human Resources, Project Management, Sales/Licensing and other functions. Enterprise Application Development is the pillar of Altair’s design, development and implementation process and provides engineers and developers with a high efficiency system to develop, maintain and drive product innovation. The successful candidate will be able to work independently as well as part of a distributed team located in the US, India, and Europe.

What You Will Do:

• Develop, maintain, and manage projects, boards, workflows, custom fields, screen schemes, tasks/issues, permissions, and users including setting permissions and maintaining security for Jira projects and Confluence spaces
• management of the Jira / Confluence environment including maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrading, and
  maintaining cybersecurity compliance
• Migration of JIRA/Confluence systems from on-premises environment to Atlassian Cloud
• Development of applications and tools to enhance products using Java, python, Perl, php, Groovy
• Design efficient data structures and algorithms to support development enhancements to corporate systems
• Leverage database assets to maximize value to the customer with customizations/add-ons
• Utilize third party data visualization tools to represent Corporate Systems data for analytic predictions
• Develop scripts for automation, workflow and systems enhancement purposes
• Perform basic JIRA/Confluence administration duties – user creation, screen design, and workflow implementation as requests come from JIRA users
• Aid in development of JIRA add-ons and web application for creating features that are not innately available in JIRA
• Compose guides and processes in Confluence for documentation purposes
• Track project and assignment information (work estimates, requirement, time logged, etc.) in JIRA
• Work with various teams to support hardware and software maintenance

What You Will Need:

• 3 to 5 years of experience working with JIRA/Confluence as developer and/or admin
• Comfortable working with programming languages like Java, Groovy, Perl, JavaScript, PHP, and Python
• Basic SQL/Database knowledge
• Knowledge of navigating within Linux environment and VI editing skills
• Basic understanding of source control management – experience with Gitlab is desirable
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing technology environment
• Well-developed time management and organizational skills
• Prior experience migrating on-premise JIRA/Confluence systems to the Atlassian Cloud
• Experience in following the Agile development life cycle
• Experience with third party or developing custom API and Web Services
• Good trouble-shooting and diagnostic skills

Basics:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or equivalent
• Ability to work as a single contributor as well as team player
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills(verbal/written) – the ability to articulate clearly and succinctly to a variety of audiences (PMs, Technical Specialists, Support, Developers, QA, etc.)

Preferred: 

• Experience working on JIRA/Confluence on-premise and in the Cloud
• Experience working with JIRA in an Agile software development environment
• Atlassian Certification in JIRA/Confluence
• Experience with JSM module is preferred
