Project Title

Transistor Noise Characterization and Analysis

Project Objective

Transistor noise performances are an important feature of solid-state analog device.

This project aims to characterize and study transistor noise impact from the various semiconductor process elements in 40nm/55nm CMOS foundry technology.

Project Description:

Intern will get exclusive insights and hands-on experience in GlobalFoundries’ state-of-the-art semiconductor characterization facility. Through the project, the intern will gain the skillset in profiling of transistor interface state density through charge pump, DCIV and/or CV characterization as well as advanced noise characterization technique.

Interested applicants should be inquisitive and have a positive learning attitude.

Project Outcome

The intern will acquire deeper understanding of transistor’s Flicker Noise and Random Telegraphic Noise for Low Noise Amplifier applications.

At the end of the internship, analysis and documentation on CMOS transistor low noise Figure of Merit study as well as a presentation of learning experience with recommendations for improvement is required.

Required Qualifications:

BS or Diploma in Electronics or Electrical or other relevant engineering disciplines, proficient in Microsoft office.
